Qohenje makes frequent use of embedded structures which consist of a full clause, stripped of its verbal auxiliary (nominalised, in effect), but retaining all of its other grammatical marking, and being included in a higher order structure. Such embedded clauses are marked off with case clitics (rather than affixes).

See Mental States, Force Dynamics, Relative structures, Phasal Verbs

The initial "nominalisation" of structures to be embedded consists of removing the verbal auxiliary. From a full clause,

the AUX is removed, leaving,

The de-verbalised structure is now nominal, and ready to be construed as an argument for a higher relational lexeme:

The meaning of these embedded structures is highly dependent upon the case clitic itself. AB clitics tend to profile the the whole event, as in the above example, unless the TR argument of the embedded structure is itself AB:

Such structures are ambiguous. The second sense (profiling the TR) can be disambiguated through the use of a chained clause formation such as,

In the more common situation where the embedded TR is either AN or IN, such as the following example, the IN clitic unambiguously profiles the TR itself,

as opposed to the same formation with the AB clitic , which profiles the whole event,

The AB clitic is optional, and is often ellipsed (particularly in speech):
