The Delayed (DEL) Aspect

Header division

The DEL aspect is the "aberrant" counterpart of the PRO aspect, and indicates, like the PRO aspect that the criterial attributes of the lexeme are not yet fully developed. The difference is that the DEL aspect contins the sense of "against expectation" (like the ABN and the END aspects, q.v.), so the implication is that under normal circumstances, the lexeme would be a NOR, but that something has retarded or delayed the development of those attributes.
