The Abnormal (ABN) Aspect

The ABN aspect is the "aberrant" counterpart of the simple NOR aspect. Anchored, like NOR to the temporal specification of the whole proposition, the ABN aspect adds the "against expectation" meaning of the other aberrant aspects, only in this case, indicating that the criterial attributes of the lexeme are somehow disturbed, not right, or not normal:

With AN lexemes, the most common implication is one of physical deformity:

With IN lexemes, the ABN aspects indicates physical damage, or unusual characteristics,

With AB processes, the implication is of a process occurring in a bizarre, inhabitual or inappropriate manner,
